Gift card holder
Hello and welcome, great to have you here. Today’s project is a cute little gift card holder made using the Pretty Pillow box dies. I originally wanted to have the gift card inside the enclosed box, but the gift card was a bit bigger than the die so I had to improvise. I took inspiration from a post by Kim McGillis and instead of using the die as a box and folding in the ends, I pressed them down flat and glued them together.
Method: Take a piece of designer series paper, 12 x 12 works perfectly, and cut it in half. Die cut out two pillow box dies. You can use plain cardstock or the same paper to cut out the other dies. If you want to use more or less of the flowers or use different tags or labels in the die set then cut out the appropriate ones you need. I used the flowers, small tag and the pillow die topper die with the holes in it for the ribbon.

Choose which side of the designer series paper you want to be on the outside. Bend the the bottom of the die up so that the two outside colours are back to back to each other.

As you see I chose the pale green inside. Add your adhesive to both sections and press them together to adhere. My glue of choice is our multipurpose glue as I find it has enough wiggle room time to line up the paper before the glue sets, it dries clear and if you make any boo boos they are easy rubbed off with our rubber eraser found in our embossing kit. You do need a strong glue bond with this project, so use any glue that you have in your stash that resembles that and it will work fine.

To finish the pillow box, the die cut flowers were added in green and red, the hole die was adhered to the top of the box for extra strength and then tied with a ribbon. (you can miss this step and just run the pillow box die through with the hole cut out die instead) Bling was layered and glue onto the flowers using some retired Be Dazzling specialty paper and the flowers and label were coloured with the clear wink of stella glitter brush for a sparkly shine.

I hope you enjoyed todays project as much as I did making it. All products used to make this project are listed below and are available on my online store by selecting the corresponding product.
